Why Don’t We Go Bald in Other Places of Our Bodies?

However, a hormone called dihydrotestosterone (DHT), which naturally occurs in all humans, affects head hair follicles more than other follicles. Since men produce more testosterone, which eventually a small percentage then converts to DHT, more men tend to be more affected by hair loss than women.

Why do we have hair on our bodies anyway?

Wearing a Wig this Summer? Put on a Hat, Too!

Summer is in full swing, and the sun is beating down on us like never before. Record-breaking heat is afflicting many parts of the world, especially here in Los Angeles, and it’s hard to escape the sun. Even if we aren’t vacationing, we still need to go outside at some point to live our lives.

For those wearing hairpieces or wigs, this could be problematic. On one hand, you want to wear a hat to protect your eyes from the sun. On the other, a hat can make your head feel hot, especially since you’re already feeling the heat from wearing a wig in the first place.

So, how can you keep your look while also staying cool this summer?

Switch to Synthetic Hair

Human hair wigs may look more natural and could feel wonderful, but human hair is also thicker and grabs onto oil and dirt more easily than synthetic hair. Thus, it could make your head hotter.

Synthetic hair is traditionally lighter and thinner, so it won’t feel as heavy on your head as a natural wig might. The same goes for hair extensions.
