Why Choose Custom Hair Replacement

While stock hair replacement options may seem attractive due to their easy availability and fast delivery, we know that there is nothing better than completely custom hair replacement tailored to all of your personal needs and specifications. The perfect size, perfect fit, and perfect color is only obtainable with custom hair replacement.

Stock hair replacement options all have a set size that they adhere to, typically 7-1/2” X 8-1/2”. If you get a piece that does not fit your head, you won’t be able to get the best most natural look! If you’re lucky enough to fit this standard size, you still may not be happy with the other qualities of the stock product- such as its fit, feel, or color.

You don’t have to compromise with custom hair replacement pieces. The fit will be absolutely perfect, because it will be made to fit the contours of your head. You won’t have to worry about uncomfortable bumps or odd folds at the base, since it will be made exactly to match the pattern sent in.

Even better, you won’t have to fight the hair to be styled as you want because it will be made to the hairstyle you desire for it. Stock hair replacements come pre-styled, and it is typically an uphill battle to train the hair to go in the direction you want since the direction of the hair is woven into the cap. With the customized option, you don’t have to worry about that or any repercussions of fighting the stock piece such as stress on your own grown hair (which could result in hair loss).

Finally, your custom hair replacement can be colored however you wish. When you make the order, you send in a small hair sample, and the color of your custom hair system is blended to match the sample exactly! It won’t be matched to a color ring for the closest color- it will be precisely custom blended to be your desired color. This will give you a totally natural look!

Another convenience of custom hair replacement is that once you do it once, your information – such as your pattern, hair samples, and specifications – are kept on file, making re-ordering as simple as a phone call or email. It also makes it incredibly easy to make any adjustments or changes. If you’re interested in custom hair replacement or want to schedule a consultation, call our office at 800-966-9505 and we’ll help you beautifully customize your hair replacement to give you an attractive, natural look!

How to Care for Virtual Reality Hair

Virtual Reality Hair for men, or Virtuésse Hair for women, is incredibly easy to care for. For the first 24 hours after the initial procedure, simply don’t wet the hair. After, you care for it just as you would your own grown head of hair! We’ll train you how to shampoo and style your new locks, but the big benefit of Virtual Reality Hair and Virtuésse is that you can clean, brush, and style the hair just like your natural hair. You’re free to use styling aids such as gel, mousse, curling irons, flat irons, blow dryers, and more.

We recommend washing your hair no more than three times a week, just like your natural hair. You can towel dry, blow-dry, or air-dry the hair. Because Virtual Reality Hair and Virtuésse are so easy to style and care for, we expect that you will spend less time styling your hair! Due to the added volume, you won’t have to waste your time teasing and worrying your hair to style it the way you want.

Virtual Reality Hair and Virtuésse Hair require simple monthly maintenance in which we ask that you come in to our salon once a month. Our specialists will remove and re-apply the hair graft in as little as 30 minutes! We offer other services at this time such as haircuts, color touch ups, and more. The Virtual Reality Hair and Virtuésse Hair can be dyed just like your natural hair, so you can choose from highlights, recolors, root touch-ups, and other coloring options. We’ll give you a whole new hairstyle during the monthly maintenance.

It’s as easy as that! Care for your Virtual Reality Hair or Virtuésse Hair just as you would your own grown head of hair, and come in once a month for maintenance and styling. What is the Process of Getting Virtual Reality Hair?

Virtual Reality Hair for men or Virtuésse Hair for women is the perfect option for those with hair loss who want to add fast, high-quality natural hair to their head of grown hair. It’s great for men and women who don’t want to use conventional wigs or hairpieces to cover up their own hair.

It consists of a thin membrane made of human hair that blends seamlessly with your own hair, kept in place using a special dermal-lens attachment. Duplicating your unique scalp tone, hair color, and texture, Virtual Reality Hair and Virtuésse is perfectly aligned with your natural hairline and real hair to create whatever look and style you want!

Virtuésse and Virtual Reality Hair takes as little as 30-60 minutes to apply. It does not require surgery and can be easily reversed. There are no long-term side effects, and it looks and feels just like your own grown head of hair. The hair graft remains in place for a whole month, in which you are free to sleep, shower, exercise, and enjoy all your normal activities. Simply get it touched up with our trained technicians once a month! There is no waiting for a transplant or for hair to start growing – the process is quick and the results are immediate.

Getting Virtuésse or Virtual Reality Hair is incredibly easy with HRC. The first step is to set up an appointment with one of our specialists for an evaluation. During this consultation, we take measurements, discuss the style you want, and review color samples. Once we determine that you are a good candidate for Virtuésse for women or Virtual Reality Hair for men, we then schedule your appointment for the procedure.

During this second visit, you will meet with one of our trained Virtuésse and Virtual Reality Hair technicians. We provide a private, discreet room with a pleasant ambiance you can relax in. Our technicians are highly trained and re-trained in derma-lens attachment and micro-length attachment, as well as other non-invasive hair attachment procedures that give your hair more volume and a fuller look. After the graft is placed in just 30-60 minutes, you can enjoy your additional hair that is friendly to the skin and undetectable to the touch!

For more information or to set up an appointment to see if Virtual Reality Hair is right for you, call our office at (310) 477-2320.

A Short Guide to Wigs

Wigs do not only come in all shapes and colors – they also come in different materials, qualities, and constructions. Here is a short guide to the different types of wigs to help you make the most educated choice in picking out the perfect wig.

 short-guide.jpg

What are Synthetic Wigs?

Synthetic wigs are the least expensive types of wigs, as they are made from synthetic materials such as acrylic and nylon. They can be pre-styled upon purchase, and dyed to match your hair color if needed. Synthetic wigs are made by machines and mass-produced, making them quite durable. However, avoid exposing your synthetic wig to high temperatures, as the fibers can melt easily. Special wigs are available to buy that can be blow-dried and curled with hot irons. Synthetic wigs have a lifespan of about three to six months.

What are Natural Wigs?

Natural wigs are wigs that can be made from a variety of natural hairs, such as human hair, horsehair, buffalo hair, or wool. These tend to be of higher quality, so they are often more expensive than synthetic wigs. The hairs are first treated to a base solution, partially dissolving the outer cortex. It is then bleached to remove the original color, then dyed to the desired color. Finally, a synthetic resin finish is applied to restore the hair’s natural strength and luster.

When they’re made well, human hair wigs are the best quality wigs available on the market. When not made well, the hairs can become frizzy, tangled easily, and unrealistic-looking. High quality natural wigs are hand-tied with confirmative strands that all point in the same direction, making them very easy to style. The less expensive natural wigs are made by machines with less attention to detail, so the hairs don’t all run in the same direction.

What are Remy Hair Wigs?

These are wigs made of human hair that keep the hair cuticle intact. The hair isn’t processed, so these wigs are sometimes called “cut hair” or “virgin hair” wigs. Remy hair wigs, similarly to hand-died natural wigs, have been made with all the hairs facing in a uniform direction. Because they are unprocessed, they feel softer and are less prone to tangling. They also retain most of their natural strength, so they’re quite durable and long-lasting.

What Are Different Types of Wig Construction?

From machine made to handmade, wigs have a variety of construction methods. Each technique has its own set of benefits and drawbacks, so it’s important to learn about each and make an educated decision when looking at a certain wig for purchase.

Stock wigs are made from synthetic fibers and are machine-made and mass-produced. The fibers are typically sewn onto wefts, then sewn onto the cap. Semi-custom wigs can be made of synthetic or natural hairs, and are made partially by machine and partially hand-tied. The cap has a solid weft, while the sides have fine mesh net. Custom made wigs also come in both synthetic and natural hairs. However, they are made of a flexible mesh net and are completely hand-tied. Custom wigs are made to a customer’s precise measurements.

Stock wigs are the cheapest type of wig and come in pre-cut styles. Semi-custom and custom-made wigs are the highest quality wigs and are usually found in specialty shops and salons like ours.

The Perfect Cut for Your Face Shape

We’ve all heard the infamous words, “Get a haircut that suits your face shape!” But what does that mean? How do you determine your face shape, and what are the perfect cuts for you? To avoid the embarrassment of getting the wrong cut, and to help you glam up your looks with the absolutely perfect style for you, we have the answers.

To determine your face shape, simply break out the ruler and start measuring. An oval face (or long face) means that the widths of your jaw, cheekbones, and brow are about equal. A round face means that your face is almost as wide as it is long, with a slight curve to your forehead and jaw. A heart-shaped face has a narrow jaw and wide brow, while a square face is characterized by an equal width and length. Our experts have compiled the best cuts for each face shape:

Oval (Long)

Short: If you’re looking for a short haircut and you have an oval face, stick to an angular bob with chin-length layers. Choose a side part to give the choppy layers some lift.

Medium: Medium-length hair with a bit of a blowout is perfect on an oval face. It should have subtle layers to keep your hair from getting too flat, which would make your face look longer.

Long: For a long cut that doesn’t elongate your face, add side-swept bangs and some texture with layers. The sweeping fringe will shorten the length of your face perfectly.

Round

Short: Rock a short haircut with a round face by getting lots of choppy layers! The messy pixie cut will add height to your face up top, lengthening your face.

Medium: Go with a bob that just brushes the collarbone, with some wispy pieces that frame your neck. It will slim your face and give you more structure.

Long: For a round face and a long cut, get subtle layers around your jawline. This will make your hair seem fuller without adding roundness to your face! Keep more layers around the bottom of your hair to avoid volume around your face.

Heart-Shaped

Short: The best short cut for a heart-shaped face is a cute pixie with short layers on top and even sides. This will soften the jawline and break up the wide forehead.

Medium: Treat yourself to sweeping bangs and simple, uniform layers. This will give your face balance and draw the eyes away from a pronounced chin.

Long: Long layers and full bangs work well with a heart-shaped face. Add some curled pieces to soften the angles of your face.

Square

Short: Subtle bangs and a short-layered bob is the perfect short cut for a square face. It lifts the attention up to your cheekbones and eyes, and away from your jaw.

Medium: Give medium-length hair light layers around the shoulders and add sweeping bangs. The feathery layers will soften a strong chin. Finish by parting to the side to offset the sharp angles of your face.

Long: Frame your face with strands around your cheekbones, and add layers that hit your collarbone. Give your hair a soft wave to beautifully complement your square face shape.

There’s a perfect haircut for both your face shape and your personal style preferences! Whether you want short, medium, or long hair, you can achieve the best look for your face and have all the confidence in the world in your own unique style.
