They're Just Like This: Celebrities Dealing with Hair Loss

flickr-nikolas-montaldi.jpg

It's easy for someone who is experiencing thinning hair to feel alone. With all the media surrounding gorgeous celebrities, we are hit with pictures of beautiful people with beautiful hair left and right. Maybe even in our immediate circles, we tend not to notice the issues others are dealing with, as we become so consumed with our own problems.

Or, people just simply believe that talking about hair loss is too much of a taboo topic to discuss with others.

But it shouldn't have to be. Over 56 million men and women, just in the U.S., experience hair loss. And those gorgeous faces you see on the big screen? Some of them are part of that very same statistic.

Here is a short video that previews some of the most prominent names in Hollywood who deal with thinning hair, from Jude Law to Prince William:

We bet some of those people you never realized struggled with hair loss, or underwent some sort of hair restoration procedure to regain some of the lost hair. So now you don’t have to feel so alone, knowing that guys like Brendan Fraser and Hugh Laurie are by your side.

Hair restoration is not just reserved for the Hollywood elite -- you too can win your confidence back in your image. We here at HRC can provide you with a variety of options that are best suited for your individual need, whether it's laser hair growth therapy or custom hairpieces.

Book a free hair and scalp consultation with us now, and an experienced stylist can help you find the ways you can achieve the hairstyle you desire.

Club Cheveux: Fun hairstyles for a night on the town

bigstock-smiling-young-girl-dancing-in--54423107.jpg

Want to regain confidence and show off your new custom hair piece? Go out with your best friends (or significant other) looking your very best and be dressed to impress -- especially your hair.

Now, you won’t need to go to your local Los Angeles hair club to nab these styles. With a little bit of practice and patience initially, you could easily learn to do these on your own. Of course, as an HRC client, our stylists are more than willing to help you with crafting the style you want.

For Women

Tease hair for volume

There are many styles you can create after teasing your hair and for many different hair lengths and cuts. But, we are particularly fond of this mid-length hair tutorial.

An especially popular hair style for older women, this hairstyle looks strong and fun at the same time. The best part is, you won’t need many tools at all to achieve this voluminous look.

Tousled curls

Though it’s meant more for longer hair, this style still works for mid-length as well. It’s a little more time-consuming than the previous style, but once you have it down, you’ll probably love it more than we do already!

This looks is very sexy, flirty and glamorous all at the same time. It’s a great look for women of any age.

For Men

The Pompadour

This rockabilly hairstyle has been very popular recently, and it’s a good thing: it’s a clean, classic look that almost any guy can rock and instantly look more dapper. Join the club for ridiculously good-looking men with this tutorial:

Though we’re not sure exactly why it’s back in style, we can probably thank guys like David Beckham or Justin Timberlake for this.

Add volume to short hair

If you have custom hair pieces, then you probably have hair that’s not very voluminous and typically short. Adding volume to your hair is easy, and will definitely turn some heads at the club!

As you can see, it’s an easy style to achieve if you dedicate some time for preparing before you night out.

Looking for a more permanent solution to adding more volume to your hair? Consider hair transplant restoration

Let us help you figure out a fun style for your hair!

If you need a consultation to help you achieve the style you want, or you’re still considering whether custom hair pieces are right for you, contact us now for a free hair and scalp consultation.

5 Insane Hairstyles from World Cup 2014

 Ronaldo-Zoro_1.jpg

Fans of all sports have interesting and fun ways to express their love of the sport and their favorite teams. Even the players themselves sometimes will don interesting hairdos either for press, personal image or just because.

With the World Cup still in full storm, we’ve decided to bring together some of the most interesting hairstyles from fans and players that we’ve spotted so far.

If you thought barbers were talented, you have to see the work of Rob Ferrel, owner of Rob the Original Barbershop in San Antonio. Here, he shaves a portrait of USA goalkeeper Tim Howard into a man’s hair. He uses eyeliner at the end to add color to the cut. If this isn’t true World Cup fandom, then we have no idea what is.

Rodrigo Palacio of Argentina has his own version of a rat tail for his hair. While we have seen this hairstyle all over the world, this one is a bit mind-boggling. For one, it looks like a braided hair extension stuck to the middle of his head. Also, we can’t imagine the pain if another player were to accidentally tug on that hair while playing.

Can’t get cornrows for your hair? Just find braided rope and paint your favorite team’s colors instead! All joking aside, this fan shows his dedication to Brazil by taunting opposing teams not only with his iPad, but with his hair. Maybe it’s just best to find some braided human hair extensions, no?

Marouane Fellaini of Belgium is taking us back to the 70s with his fro. If you saw him down the street, you’d think that it’s a men’s wig, but no. This is his real hair. We wonder if it helps ease the pain when head-bunting the soccer ball.

This is some next-level patriotism here. Possibly just as insane as the first Tim Howard pic, this male American fan embodies the great country’s flag onto his head. Whether he actually shaved stars onto his head, or he used a custom hairpiece in the shape of a star, you can tell he’s definitely proud of his country.

Maybe this will serve you as inspiration for your next hairstyle when you want to express your love for the sport. Or maybe this was just a fun read for you as it was a fun post to put together for us! Make sure to visit our Facebook page for more fun content.

Look Like a Hollywood Celebrity: Styling Your Hair Extensions

look_a_like_hollywood_celeb.jpg

There are many reasons for getting hair extensions, one of them being the opportunity to transform your hair into any style you want. Whether you are struggling with hair loss or simply desire to have more volume for that Hollywood hair look, hair pieces and extensions are definitely worth looking into.

But what can you do with hair pieces? Thankful to the major advances in science and technology, human hair extensions can be styled just like your own hair. Since they are made with real human hair, there is no need to worry about using the right products or heat in order to style the hair.

Here are some of our favorite hair styles with extensions straight from the red carpet:

Jayma Mays

b2ap3_thumbnail_Jayma.jpg

Jayma’s striking red hair is enhanced with extensions to add volume and length. Her stylist then gave her a clean yet tousled look that’s effortless and gorgeous. Try using a curling iron on medium heat, curling pieces of hair around the iron, and then slowly tugging the bunch down for those big curls.

Minka Kelly

Minka added some serious length with her extensions for a more modern look. On top of that, her hair stylist added an ombré coloration to her real hair and the extensions, which is definitely possible with human hair pieces. When you get your extensions colored, be sure to find a stylist who’s worked with extensions before, and be sure to communicate any history of coloration done to that piece, as the chemicals may affect future applications.

Miranda Kerr

Miranda went for a classic and romantic look with a one-sided hairstyle to compliment her single strap dress. Professionally applied hair pieces won’t show even if you brush your hair to the side, giving you the freedom to create the hairstyle you want.

Be sure to also check out our post on how to care for your hair extensions, which can be very easy.

If you’re ready to see if human hair extensions are right for you, schedule a free hair and scalp appointment with us. Our hair experts at HRC will be able to guide you in the direction you want for your next hair style.
